Elizabeth's story: when to stop?

Hi, I’m Liz, and I'm 33 years old, and I'm married to Malcolm, who's 37 years old, living in the Illawarra in Australia. We have been TTC for almost 4 years now. And IVF for nearly 1 year and a half.

I've always had irregular periods from day dot. No doctor would ever take me seriously, and they'd constantly tell me to go on the pill to fix it. I finally decided to take myself off the pill and my period was still so irregular.

Sometimes no period; sometimes, I would get it for weeks in a row.

Finally, in 2017 I got a laparoscopy, resulting in a mild Endo diagnosis, and we discovered that both my tubes were blocked. IVF was and hopefully still is our only chance at conceiving. But after 6 full stim rounds, 6 egg collections and only 2 transfers, our dreams feel like they are slipping out of our hands.

We just failed our 6th round of IVF, this time none of our 3 eggs fertilised as they should, which is soul-crushing. Our next step is to see if any meds or protocol need to be changed and we will possibly look into egg donation.

Elizabeth shares her story from Wollongong, Australia.
