My husband and I started TTC around 2 years ago, in September 2020. We tried naturally, and I got pregnant in December 2020 but had my first miscarriage when I was 5-6 weeks.
It was a shock, and it shook me to my core. I was depressed.
We took a break for a month & started trying again but didn't get any positive tests for many months. So, my gynaecologist advised that we go with IUI, and we started that in October 2021. The first cycle didn't work, and then I got pregnant in the second cycle, but again had a miscarriage in December 2021.
I didn't like how things were going and couldn't take another hit. So, my husband and I started discussing the next steps and thoughts about IVF.
Starting IVF
So this year, we started our IVF journey in May 2022. It has been a lot!
The self-injecting & being hormotional (hormones + emotional), blood work, and ultrasounds. But giving up is not an option. I started strong with the STIMS, but the egg retrieval took a toll on me. It took a week for me to heal; I was hurting physically and emotionally. It hit me hard that I couldn't get pregnant naturally and had to endure so much.
It has been a rollercoaster ride in the truest sense.
I got better in a couple of weeks post egg retrieval, and I decided to take a month's break for my body to heal and then go for FET. We had 29 eggs retrieved, 17 mature, 11 fertilised eggs, but only 2 genetically normal/viable embryos were left. This decrease in numbers was heart breaking for me. But I am grateful and thankful for this opportunity.
I just had my mock transfer cycle where they did the ERA+EMMA+ALICE testing; the results would take up to 2 weeks. And then, we will be doing the FET. Pray for our baby and us, and send lots of baby dust our way. (Also, I just want to say thanks for doing what you do. Awareness about fertility issues is so important, and that's why I started my page @bringinghopetous).
