Welcome to Not Another Bad Egg, a safe space for women struggling to conceive, seeking medical intervention (through tests, surgery, drugs or fertility treatments) or mourning their angel babies and their allies.
Meet Emma Turner and Lynette Franco. We’re two wannabe Mumma’s and long-time friends, 24 years to be exact, here to get raw about infertility, women’s business and the power of friendship when times get tough.
Like so many couples before us, initially, we kept our journeys to conceive sacred. A monthly tussle in the sheets with the ones we love — each time certain we had just made a baby.
But those months turned into years, and those romantic tussles beneath the sheets turned into what now sometimes feels like cold, calculated (yes, we got all the apps) choreography. And we do this dance every damn month, over and over again.
Our journeys have been very different, but we’ve both been into the depths of despair and crawled back our warriors, ready to do what our bodies were made to do — grow a life.
And guess what? We’ve realised you don’t have to do this alone. There are thousands of other women with their own version of this story who need to hear this. Or need to tell their story.
That’s why we’re on a mission to rid infertility of its taboo and make it a safe conversation for women who need it.
If you’ve ever been told, “just relax and let it happen,” then you know exactly why we started this movement. We’re members of a f*%ked up club that no one wanted to be in, but here we are making the most of the proverbial sh*t stick.
